Victim Found With Slashed Neck At Hudson Valley Motel, Suspect Arrested: Police
A 52-year-old was arrested and charged in the knife assault that took place at the Super 8 Motel in Newburgh.

TOWN OF NEWBURGH, NY — A violent attack left a victim injured and a suspect in custody, according to police in Orange County.
The Town of Newburgh Police Department says that on Sunday, around 9 a.m. officers responded to the Super 8, located on Rt. 300, after receiving a report of a man with a neck laceration.
Once at the scene, police found a 40-year-old victim and provided medical aid. The victim was taken by Town of Newburgh EMS to Montefiore St. Luke's Hospital, where he is currently listed as stable.

A preliminary investigation found that the injury was the result of a knife assault that had taken place at the property.
Police later arrested 52-year-old Shayne D. Griffin, of Newburgh, and charged him with felony second-degree assault, felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor second-degree menacing.

He was arraigned in the Central Arraignment Part at the Orange County Jail, and remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff, without bail.
