Woman Answers Knock At Motel Room Door, Ends Up Getting Stabbed
A 38-year-old woman was arrested and charged for the incident which took place at the Wenton Motel on Route 9W, according to state police.

SAUGERTIES, NY — New York State Police say that the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at Kingston arrested a 38-year-old Saugerties woman after a stabbing incident at a motel.
An initial investigation found that on Tuesday, around 5:48 a.m., a woman with multiple stab wounds went to HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, where staff immediately notified the City of Kingston Police Department.
Once Kingston police realized that the assault took place in the town of Saugerties, they contacted the Town of Saugerties Police Department.

The investigation was then turned over to the New York State Police, who determined that at around 4:45 a.m. that morning, the 37-year-old female victim answered a knock at the door of the Wenton Motel room, located on Route 9W in the town of Saugerties, where she was staying.
Shannon N. Marshall was on the other side of the door, and a verbal argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, according to police.

The victim received multiple stab wounds during the altercation and was taken to HealthAlliance Hospital for treatment.
Marshall was soon located, arrested, and processed at SP Kingston without incident. Police say she was charged with felony second-degree assault, two misdemeanor counts of second-degree menacing, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
After Marshall was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP), she was remanded to the Ulster County Jail with bail set at $20,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond. She is scheduled to return to Saugerties Town Court on Friday.
