2 People Hospitalized After Attack In Grand Central: Police

MIDTOWN, NY — A suspect has been arrested after two people were slashed on Christmas Eve in Grand Central Station, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, just after 10 p.m., a man left the subway car he was on and slashed two people, a 26-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, on the subway platform serving the 4, 5, and 6 lines.

The 42-year-old was slashed in the right wrist and the 26-year-old was slashed in the neck, cops said. Both were rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition, police said.

The suspect, Jason Sargeant, 28, was arrested at the scene, and charged with assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.

Officials also said that when Sargeant was arrested, he had a knife with him.
