300 Gallons Of Fuel Spilled In Midtown Hotel Basement, FDNY Says
The fuel was spilled in the basement of a hotel on West 41st Street and Broadway.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A major fuel spill occurred Friday morning in the basement of a Midtown Manhattan hotel, an FDNY spokesman said.
Three hundred gallons of diesel fuel were spilled in a basement near 143 W. 41st St., located by the corner of Broadway, at about 8:30 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters and hazmat crews responded to the scene to clean up the fuel and are expected to work the scene "for some time," the department spokesman said.
The city's Office of Emergency Management advised people to avoid the area.

No injuries were caused by the spill and the FDNY could not confirm if any buildings had to be evacuated.
