6 Pedestrians Hit After Taxi Driver Jumps Midtown Curb: Police
The driver was experiencing a medical emergency, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A taxi driver experiencing a medical emergency lost control of his car and drove over a sidewalk near Herald Square on Christmas day, injuring six people, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the cab driver, a 58-year-old man, drove onto the sidewalk at the corner of West 34th Street and 6th Avenue around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, hitting a 9-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman, a 41-year-old woman, and two 49-year-old women.
The 9-year-old boy and the 41-year-old woman were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said. The boy had a leg injury and the woman had a head injury, according to police.

A 49-year-old woman and the driver were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, police said. According to the police, the woman had a leg injury.
All others were evaluated at the scene, according to the NYPD.

As of Thursday, there have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
