NEW YORK CITY — The fugitive accused of sexually abusing children in Pennsylvania and then assaulting police officers in Midtown Manhattan was finally arrested in Yonkers on Tuesday, police said.

Isaiah Metz, 22, was taken into custody just after 11 p.m. after being found at a shelter in that city, an NYPD spokesperson said. After initially resisting arrest, officers used a taser to subdue him, and then took him to a hospital before processing charges against him, police said.

Metz is reportedly accused of raping twin four-year-old girls in Goldsboro, Penn. late last month, and also faces dozens of additional charges, including accusations of possessing child pornography.

Early Tuesday, officers from the Regional Fugitive Task Force found Metz at a shelter on West 30th Street, but when they moved in to arrest him, Metz punched both officers in the head, bit one in the arm, and ran away, according to police.

He now faces charges for that incident, including two counts of assaulting a police officer, assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, and a criminal trespassing count related to an incident that happened Monday in the city, according to the NYPD.
