Man Attacks Food Cart Vendor, Steals $3K, Police Say
The attacker used an item from the food cart to hit the vendor with, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A street cart vendor was attacked by a man who stole thousands of dollars from the cart on Tuesday night in Hell's Kitchen, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the mugger attacked the vendor at 10:35 p.m., hitting him in the face with a piece of plexiglass from the vendor's cart at the corner of West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue.
After the attack, the mugger stole more than $3,000 from the victim before taking off, police said.

The victim, a 33-year-old man, was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition, police said.
According to the New York Daily News, the victim had several teeth broken in the attack.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet. According to the cops, the attacker fled on foot to the 50th Street train station.
