Man Found Stabbed To Death Near Times Square; Suspect Arrested
A Queens man was found lying on a busy Midtown street with stab wounds Monday, steps away from Times Square. A suspect is now in custody.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man was found stabbed to death on a busy street in the heart of Midtown early Monday, and a homeless man has been accused of committing the murder, police said.
Around 5:20 a.m. Monday, police received a report of an unconscious man near the corner of West 38th Street and Seventh Avenue — just a few blocks south of Times Square and a short walk from the Macy's flagship store.
Officers arrived and found the victim lying on the pavement, unconscious and unresponsive. He was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as Esan Benn, a 51-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens. Doctors eventually determined that Benn had been stabbed.
Hours later, at 11 p.m. Monday, police arrested Vincent Cole, 38, who is listed as homeless, and charged him with murder in connection with Benn's death.

Benn hailed from Guyana, where he formerly worked as a tennis coach, according to a report by News Room Guyana.
