Man Jumps To Death From Midtown Rooftop Bar, Police Say
The man fell six stories after jumping from a rooftop bar at the Roger Smith Hotel on Lexington Avenue.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man died Tuesday night after jumping from a rooftop bar at a three-star Midtown hotel, an NYPD spokesman said.
The 21-year-old man fell 16 stories from Henry’s Rooftop Bar at the Roger Smith Hotel on Lexington Avenue between East 47th and 48th streets, police said. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene around 9: 30 p.m., said police.
Police are investigating the death as a suicide.

Witnesses told the New York Post that the rooftop bar was fairly empty on Tuesday night.
"Nobody knew what was happening — it was just the two tables and the waiter," a witness named Talita told the Post. "People were just laughing and continuing to have a conversation like nothing happened!"
