Man Slashed In Neck On C Train Platform, Police Say

MIDTOWN, NY — A 48-year-old man was slashed in the neck and face by a man on the C train platform at West 50th Street and Eighth Avenue in Midtown on Monday, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, at around 1:30 a.m., the man was attacked on a northbound C train platform and suffered several lacerations to the face and neck.

Police arrested a suspect named Orsen Reyes on the scene, and charged him with assault in the first and second degree, as well as criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, officials said.

Reyes is 23 and lives in Washington Heights, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, cops said. The police said it was not clear yet what led to the attack. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
