Man Who Leapt From Midtown Hotel Is Dad Of Beaten Kids: Reports

Multiple reports identified the man as the father of two children beaten in Queens.

MIDTOWN, NY – A man leapt to his death from a Midtown hotel Saturday, police said. According to multiple reports, he was the father of 1-year-old twins who investigators believe were beaten by their mom in Queens last week.

Little Elaina Torabi died in the attack in the home in the Auburndale, Queens, on Oct.3 while the girl's brother was hospitalized with severe injuries, police said. Their mom, Tina Torabi, 30, was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child in connection to the boy's injuries.

She has not yet been charged in connection with Elaina's death.

Police said a man plunged from the roof of the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 on East 57th Street at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Several reports identified him as Mohammad Reza Torabi. The Daily News reported police had been trying to track him down to talk to him about the attacks on his children.
