MIDTOWN, NY — Police are searching for a perpetrator after a 57-year-old woman was groped inside the 5 Avenue-53 Street subway station, New York City Police Department officials said on Sunday.

According to the NYPD, on Wednesday, Jan. 29. at 8:20 a.m., the victim was walking on a staircase near the mezzanine level when a man grabbed her by the chest and arm.

Then, the man ran away, police said.

The 5 Avenue-53 Street subway station serves the E train and the M train on weekends.

Police said that anyone with information about this incident can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
