  1. Riverhead is considering banning stores that sell guns in downtown Riverhead. Town board members held a work session where they discussed preliminary zoning changes to prohibit the sale of firearms and related gear in the business district. (RiverheadLOCAL)
  2. A vacant property in the Village of Head of the Harbor that used to be a sheep farm may soon become a 45-acre public park. Stony Brook's Avalon Park and Preserve Inc. wants to restore the North Country Road and Shep Jones Lane site. (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. Four people were charged with impaired driving during a Memorial Day weekend crackdown in Patchogue. Christopher Miller, 26, of Mastic Beach, and Jake Delloiacono, 27, of Medford, were charged with driving while intoxicated. Michael Morlock, 9, of Miller Place, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs and Victor Lituma Vicuna, 27, of East Hampton, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.
