  1. Four people were hurt when a teen driver crashed into a disabled Jeep on a shoulder of the Long Island Expressway Friday afternoon. Michael Ruotolo, 47, was sitting in his disabled 2021 Jeep Explorer on the shoulder of the westbound LIE near Exit 68 in Yaphank when a 2019 Toyota Camry lost control and crashed into the Jeep. The driver, Madison Cheeseman, 17, of East Patchogue, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with injuries, along with passenger William Brewster, 17, of Bellport. (Patch)
  2. The husband of Melissa Molinari, a mother of four, admitted to stabbing her and wrapping her body in garbage bags in December 2021. Centereach resident Marcello Molinari, age 38, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. (Daily Voice)
  3. Queens officials announced on Thursday that part of the Long Island Expressway (LIE) overpass located at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Horace Harding Expressway will be renamed“Detective Anastasios Tsakos Memorial Bridge.” Tsakos, a NYPD detective from East Northport, was killed in the line of duty last year.
