'Humble' Athlete Who Looks To Give Back: Rocky Point Star Student
He has organized a food drive for the Lighthouse Mission and a home run derby for a local autism foundation.

ROCKY POINT, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages, and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Madison C., who nominated her brother, Dominick, of Rocky Point.

How do you know the star local student?
He is my brother.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
He is a star baseball athlete, and the head organizer for the Rocky Point baseball food drive, in which all proceeds were donated to the Lighthouse Mission in March. He is also hosting a Long Island home run derby with his close friend. The proceeds will be donated to a local autism foundation.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
That he is very humble with all the baseball accolades that he has received in previous years and now that he is a senior at the Rocky Point High School he is just looking to give back to many.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Dominick Carbone!
