Here are the top three stories today in Miller Place-Rocky Point:

1. A Commack man is in critical condition after being hit by car Monday at 11:15 p.m. on Jericho Turnpike in Commack. Police said 55-year-old Dennis Mahoney was walking across Jericho Turnpike and is now in critical condition. The driver of the car that hit him was not injured. (News 12)
2. A white swan was relocated after it landed in a backyard pool in Setauket. Frankie Floridia, of Strong Island Rescue, relocated the swan and released it to another body of water. (News 12)
3. A motorcyclist died after a hit-and-run in Riverside early Tuesday morning. Southampton police said they are looking for a tan 2002 GMC Envoy pickup truck. The crash happened on County Road 104 at 5:45 a.m. (Subscription: Newsday)

• Family, friends and community members are helping a young Patchogue mother and her children after the death of her husband John Hannon, 25. He was killed Wednesday, July 6, when his Honda motorcycle hit a vehicle on Veterans Memorial Highway in Ronkonkoma. (Greater Long Island)
