PHOTO: Mt. Sinai Students Honored by Town for Bay Scallop Bowl Victory

At the April 2 Town Board meeting, Councilwoman Jane Bonner and the Town Board honored Mount Sinai High School’s National Ocean Science Bowl (NOSB) Team for winning the New York Regional Bay Scallop Bowl held on Feb. 16 at Stony Brook University.

Mount Sinai High School was one of 16 teams that participated in the competition that consists of fast-paced questions and answers concerning the marine environment.

“Congratulations to the Mount Sinai team and their coaches for winning the regional’s and moving up in the competition,” Bonner said “It’s a tough competition and we are all proud of you and wish you the best of luck in the finals.”
