1. A Port Jefferson Station man was convicted Thursday of killing a Shirley man, shooting him as he was picking up a pizza. Joseph Garcia, 20, was found guilty of the murder of David Bliss and faces 25 years to life. (Subscription: Newsday)
2. On Friday morning the juvenile gray seal found in a traffic circle in Riverhead was released back into the wild. The seal was christened Peconic. (News 12)
3. The New York DEC wants to expand wild turkey hunting season in Suffolk County from two days in May to the entire month, beginning next year. (Patch)
