- A Smithtown developer, X. Cristofer Damianos, an owner of Damianos Realty Group in Smithtown, was appointed to the board of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency. He succeeds board secretary Anthony Giordano who resigned in December 2021 after eight years because of increased work responsibilities as an agent for Major League Baseball players. - Islip lifeguards pulled a 35-year-old surfer out of the water just before noon Saturday after he was bit by an "unknown fish." The fish could have been a shark or a blue fish, experts say. (News 12)
- The Preston House restaurant in Riverhead is launching a new street food truck this summer near the Long Island Aquarium. The menu has items like smash burgers, chicken fingers, octopus salad, Hawaiian poke rice bowl and ceviche. (Northforker)
