- A Wheatley Heights man has been charged with the murder of a Centereach man who was found dead in a wooded area in Rocky Point earlier this year. Glenn Seejattan was charged with second-degree murder for shooting Justin Lee, 34, whose body was found on Jan. 28, just west of Brookhaven Drive, near the North Shore Rail Trail. (Patch)
- The Northport VA could close its emergency room, shift medical and surgical services to local hospitals and move its residential rehabilitation program to Queens under a new proposal. Only inpatient mental health, residential nursing home care and rehabilitation medicine would remain in Northport. (Subscription: Newsday)
- Police are asking the public to help locate a woman accused of stealing about $350 worth of merchandise from a Long Island store. She stole two Craftsman toolsets from Lowe's in Commack at about 5:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28. (Daily Voice)
