Rocky Point School District Enrichment Program Sees Success

The district partnered with SCOPE Education Services to offer a robust curriculum at all grade levels.

The academic and curricular experiences of numerous Rocky Point School District students were enhanced with Saturday Learning Academies from mid-October through mid-November. The district partnered with SCOPE Education Services to offer a robust curriculum at all grade levels, including courses in fine arts, mathematics, music, reading and STEM. The offerings also included culinary arts, performance arts, yoga, mindfulness and college preparation courses for high school students.

“We are pleased to offer these additional learning opportunities for our students,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott O’Brien said. “With close to 300 students who took part in the initial program, it emphasizes our community’s value on supplementing educational interests and possibilities for their children.”

Funded by the American Rescue Plan, the winter session, Jan. 21 and 28, and Feb. 4 and 11, will also be on a first-come, first-served basis and held at Rocky Point Middle School. For more information, visit https://www.scopeonline.us.
