Rocky Point Students Perform At NYSCAME All-County Festival

The Rocky Point School District is pleased to announce that eight Rocky Point High School students were selected to the Suffolk Chapter of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education High School All-County Festival.

Jordan Chirivas and Elyse Nadeau were selected for the Treble Chorus; Jessica Downer, Alexandria Kipp, Adam Olszewski, Renee Ortiz and Manny Watkis were selected for the mixed chorus and Vivian Dorr was selected for the full orchestra on trombone.

All-County students are selected in September and have the challenging task of learning and preparing 30-45 minutes of music prior to attending their ensemble rehearsals in November. They prepared the music with their music teachers Jessica Spitz and Amy Schecher and performed in three intensive rehearsal sessions at Connetquot High School, culminating with a concert at Half Hollow Hills East High School on Nov. 18.
