  1. Jarrod Pearson, 43, of Lake Grove, was arrested in connection with the assault of a woman in his family after a five-hour standoff with Suffolk police on Sunday morning, police said. Pearson was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman in his family when he tried to choke her. (Patch)
  2. A father and his three young sons who got lost in a Manorville park were rescued by Suffolk police after more than two hours Sunday night. The West Babylon man took his 8-, 10- and 13-year-old boys to Manorville Hills County Park for a bicycle ride around 6:30 p.m., before becoming lost after losing cell phone signal. (Patch)
  3. A man fell from a ninth-floor hotel balcony in Hauppauge early Monday morning.
    Alexander Keating, 24, of South Amboy, New Jersey, was on the balcony of a room on the ninth floor at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, at 1717 Motor Parkway, when he fell over the railing around 12:45 a.m. (Patch)
