Here are the top three stories today in Miller Place-Rocky Point:

1. The North Shore Rail Trail officially opened on Friday, after more than a decade of planning. The bike and pedestrian trial follow an old Long Island Rail Road 10-mile corridor between Wading River and Mount Sinai that's now owned by LIPA. It's paved and has lights at traffic intersections. 2. Police released photos of a man they are searching for after they say he stole three pre-paid cellphones from Target on Veterans' Memorial Highway in Commack. The theft happened on June 4. (News 12)
3. A new eatery opened in the decommissioned Long Island Rail Road Speonk station. Little Gull Café is owned by chef Will Pendergast and only serves breakfast and lunch five days a week. (Subscription: Newsday)
