  1. A young woman accused of luring five young men into the woods in Central Islip, where four were killed by MS-13 gang members, went on trial Monday. Leniz Escobar, a.k.a. "Diablita," is charged in connection with April 11, 2017, murders. (News 12)
  2. Motorcycle clubs attended a fundraiser in Yaphank Sunday to help a Selden man with cancer. Mario Biganini Jr., 31, is diagnosed with spinal sarcoma. The fundraiser at the Red River Inn in was to help Biganini pay medical bills and to donate to cancer research. (News 12)
  3. The Jazz Loft is hosting a "Swing Into Spring Festival," throughout the village of Stony Brook today until Sunday. There will be live jazz at locations including The Jazz Loft, local restaurants and a candy shop. (Subscription: Newsday)

  • Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are seeking help to locate a Central Islip girl who has been missing since Feb. 26. Allison Zavala left her home, at 62 Wheeler Road, at 1:35 a.m. (LongIsland.com)
  • An effort to clear clogged Nissequogue River tributaries in Smithtown was an attempt to reduce mosquitoes and fix chronic basement flooding in the area. Workers spent 1,000 hours clearing 3.7 miles of the Northeast Branch and side streams from Blydenburgh Park south to Bow Drive in Hauppauge. (Subscription: Newsday)
