Here are the top three stories in Miller Place-Rocky Point today:

  1. A fatal motorcycle crash happened on Monday in Yaphank around 5 p.m. David Acevedo, 32, was riding a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle north on Sills Road when he went through a red light and hit a 2020 Mercedes-Benz SUV going west. Acevedo, of Hampton Bays, was pronounced dead at the scene. (Patch)
  2. A second fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Memorial Day at 9:35 p.m. in Rocky Point.
    A man, whose name has not yet been released, was riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle south on Rocky Point Yaphank Road
    between Whiskey Road and Route 25A, when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a tree. (Patch)
  3. Rocky Point's baseball team defeated Mount Sinai to nab the Suffolk A title on Monday, 23 to 3. Rocky Point will play the winner of the Clarke/Calhoun series in the Long Island championship this Saturday at 4 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Athletic Complex in Patchogue. (Subscription: Newsday)
