Bosworth Appoints New Town Attorney

Elizabeth Dvorkin Botwin to assume North Hempstead position Jan. 1.

Town of North Hempstead Supervisor-elect Judi Bosworth has namedΒ Elizabeth Dvorkin Botwin as her choice as town attorney.

Botwin has served asΒ deputy commissioner for administration and planning for theΒ New York City Department of Finance for the past four years.

Effective Jan. 1Β Botwin will serve as chief counsel to the town supervisor and the town board at an annually salary of $155,000, according to town officials.

She previously worked as chief deputy comptroller of Nassau County for 2006 toΒ 2010, and as chief deputy Nassau CountyΒ attorney fromΒ 2002 to 2006.Β 

Prior to her Nassau County service, Botwin spent almost two decades on the staff of the New York City Corporation Counsel

Botwin received her J.D. from Columbia University and her B.A. from Manhattanville College.

The appointment will be reviewed by the town board at its Jan. 2 meeting.

Inauguration is set for Jan. 5 in North Hempstead.
