Cops: Man Tried to Rob New Hyde Park Bank
Incident occurred Tuesday evening, police say.

Nassau Police seek the public’s help in identifying and locating a man they say attempted to rob a bank in North New Hyde Park Tuesday evening.
Detectives say the man entered the Chase Bank at 350 Hillside Avenue at about 5:58 p.m. and gave a demand note to the teller. The teller did not immediately respond to the note, and the suspect then fled without obtaining any proceeds. The suspect was last seen walking east on Hillside Avenue.
There were five employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery, police said.

No injuries were reported, according to police.
The suspect is believed to be in his 40s and five-foot-eight-inches tall. He was wearing a powder-blue knit hat, sunglasses, gray sweatshirt, and black and red plaid jacket, police said.
