WESTBURY, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2024)—As Long Islanders and all Americans struggle with the high cost of living and groceries, All Round Foods CEO Glen Wolther, Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe and Robert Troiano, Jr., the Westbury School District Board of Education President and a Town of North Hempstead Councilman, along with Westbury School District Superintendent Dr. Tahira A. DuPree Chase, Westbury School District Board Trustee and Village of Westbury Trustee Pedro Quintanilla, the Westbury School District and local partners, came together to host a heartfelt Thanksgiving turkey giveaway at Park Avenue Elementary School. The event brought much-needed support, compassion and good tidings to community members in need this holiday season.
“It is a remarkable experience to help others in your community and witness firsthand the positive impact of altruism,” said Councilman Robert Troiano. “We truly appreciate the efforts of all of our volunteers, especially those of the event’s major benefactor, Glen Wolther. Through the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers, we were able to put turkeys on the tables of many who otherwise may not have had them.”
Residents were warmly welcomed by community leaders as they lined up to receive the centerpieces of their Thanksgiving meals. Smiles were aplenty as Glen Wolther, Legislator Bynoe, Councilman Troiano, Dr. Chase and Trustee Quintanilla were joined by community volunteers and Westbury students Laila Desir, Kevin Mendoza Ceron and Emily Soriano in distributing turkeys.
