Jericho Turnpike Pedestrian Hit By Car, Critically Hurt: Cops

MINEOLA, NY — A pedestrian was critically hurt when he was hit by a car while trying to cross Jericho Turnpike on Saturday night in Mineola.

A 66-year-old man was walking across the street around 6 p.m. near Mineola Boulevard when he was run over by a 2019 Ford Fusion, Nassau County police said. The 52-year-old sedan driver stayed at the scene.

The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with multiple serious trauma injuries, police said.

An investigation remains ongoing.
