• Joseph Allen Mirkovich (orlando-news.com) — Mineola readers are remembering Joseph Allen Mirkovich, who was born in Mineola in 1954 and recently passed away after more than 50 years in Christian ministry. His life took him from youth camp in Florida to leadership roles in the Church of God, where he served pastors, military families, and congregations worldwide. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and brother. 
• Brook Katha Dubovick (timesreview.com) — Mineola has a connection to the life of Brook Katha Dubovick, who was born here in 1946 before becoming a beloved teacher, mom, and community member in Cutchogue. She later worked in education, helped run her husband’s dental office and a local restaurant, and spent recent years at a Peconic greenhouse. A spring celebration of life is planned in Southold.
