MINEOLA, NY — American flags have been planted along Armstrong Road to honor U.S. service members past and present.

They are part of Mineola High School's patriotic outdoor display called Veteran Flag Field of Honor.

Juniors in Francine Sclafani's classes sold dozens of flags, each one of them honoring service members. Their cards are attached to each flag identifying the sponsor and honoree.
