Mineola Tanker Truck Fire Led To Fuel Spill, No Explosion Sunday: NCPD
Local fire departments were able to extinguish a fire in the cabin of a Mac truck before the tanker caught fire, police and volunteers said.

MINEOLA, NY — On Sunday, a fire in the cabin of a tanker truck parked in Mineola was contained before it reached the tanker portion of the truck, preventing an explosion, volunteers and Nassau police said.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Mineola Fire Department and Nassau police responded to a truck fire on Windsor Ave. near Windsor Fuel, a fuel oil delivery contractor located in Mineola.
The cabin portion of the truck was on fire, Kevin Madigan, a volunteer fire photographer who was on the scene said, but the firefighters were able to stop the blaze from reaching the fuel tank on the truck.

No injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Fire Marshall and North Hempstead and state Department of Environmental Conservation officials also arrived to contain the resulting diesel fuel spill onto the road, police said.
