Nassau County Calls For Memorial Day Moments Of Silence
County Executive Blakeman wants residents to stop what they're doing for 50 seconds at noon and 6 p.m. on Monday.
MINEOLA, NY — Amid the family gatherings and barbeques, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman wants residents to think about what Memorial Day means by observing a moment of silence.
He urges a county-wide pause for 50 seconds at noon and 6 p.m. on Monday. If safe to do so, people should pull their vehicle off the road and honor America's fallen heroes, Blakeman said.
NICE Bus will also halt service for 50 seconds at those same times on Memorial Day.
