Nassau County Keeps Warming Centers Open On Wednesday
The warming spaces are opened when the wind chill is at or below 32 degrees for two consecutive hours or more.
MINEOLA, NY — With Wednesday's sub-freezing temperatures, Nassau County's temporary warming spaces remain activated.
The three locations available for residents are:
- Cantiague Park Administration Office in Hicksville
- Wantagh Administration Building
Both locations are open until 4 p.m. Anyone who remains after 4 p.m. will be brought to Mitchel Field in Uniondale, which is open 24 hours.

The county said that anyone in need of transport should call 911 and will be taken to Mitchel Field.
The warming spaces are put into effect when the wind chill is at or below 32 degrees for two consecutive hours or more.
