Reduced LIRR Service, Other Transit Changes In Mineola Through Aug. 29

MINEOLA, NY — Fewer LIRR trains will stop at Mineola through Monday — so if you normally commute at that station, you may want to adjust your travel plans.

In the coming weeks, there will be major changes to eastbound service between New Hyde Park and Westbury as crews open the new Third Track.

From 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., all eastbound trains will bypass Mineola except for the 8:47 a.m. train from Jamaica to Oyster Bay, the LIRR says.

According to the transit agency:

• A bus at Hicksville will provide service back to Mineola
  • You will arrive at Mineola up to 45 minutes later than you normally would
• If your trip begins at Mineola, you can take the bus to Hicksville, which will depart up to 30 minutes earlier than the normal schedule

From 3 to 8:45 p.m., there will be reduced service at Mineola in both directions, and other minor schedule changes on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches. Check the TrainTime app for revised departure times.

In addition, all trains will depart from Track 3 throughout the day.
