  1. Nine New Yorkers are suing a pair of cops who they say framed them in a series of 54 misdemeanor cases over the course of many years. They say the officers were defended by other NYPD officials, and that they believe the NYPD's officer disciplinary apparatus is fundamentally broken. (New York City Patch)
  2. Mayor Eric Adams revealed his fiscal year 2023 budget proposal Wednesday, which he says will save the city $2 billion. The proposal includes a $252 million cut to the NYPD budget, however Adams indicated that's likely to come out of office and clerical workers, rather than from patrol units. (New York City Patch)
  3. Three people were struck by subway trains in a twelve hour period according to the MTA. Late Tuesday night a man was fatally stuck on the 6 line near Lafayette and Spring streets. Another incident, which was not fatal, took place on the 7 line at 42nd Street and 5th Avenue. (New York City Patch)
  4. The city announced it's suing an Upper West Side landlord notorious for receiving over 200 violations across the buildings he owns, and leaving scaffolding up as a stop-gap measure for years at a time. The suit cites fire safety as a motivating factor, given the recent tragic events in The Bronx that killed 17 people. (New York City Patch)
  5. Former Mayor Bill de Blasio will not seek election for congress in his newly drawn Brooklyn and Staten Island district, per an announcement he made on Twitter Wednesday. This is the second time De Blasio has considered entering a race before stepping out of it this year. (New York City Patch)
