Bronx Kidnapping Was Staged By Teen: Reports
Karol Sanchez, 16, reportedly admitted to staging the kidnapping because she did not want to return to Honduras with her family.

NEW YORK CITY — The 16-year-old girl who seemed to be ripped from her mother in The Bronx Monday night may have organized the kidnapping herself, according to multiple reports.
Karol Sanchez, 16, told police she was trying to run away from her family to be with her boyfriend after she was found Tuesday afternoon, sources told CBS News.
Police had issued a state-wide Amber Alert and released video of masked men shoving her mother to the concrete on East 156th Street and Eagle Avenue and whisking Sanchez away in a car about 11:20 p.m.

Sanchez reappeared Tuesday afternoon and was taken to the 40th Precinct where she admitted she staged the abduction to avoid moving back to Honduras with her family, according to the New York Post.
The teen is not expected to face charges but police are looking for Sanchez's boyfriend — whom the Post says may be a gang member with murder arrests on his record — and three others, the Post reports.
