  1. Several people were injured after 3 p.m. on Saturday during a crash on the Brooklyn Bridge, that closed down all eastbound traffic. One person was taken to Bellevue Hospital with critical injuries, while six more were treated on the scene. (New York City Patch)
  2. New York City's mask mandate for 2 to 4 year olds will stay in place today, after a judge ruled in favor of Mayor Eric Adams, who appealed a lawsuit against it. While the mayor originally intended to end the mandate, he reversed course due to a recent uptick in cases. (Chalkbeat NY)
  3. State legislators left Albany over the weekend, after failing to reach an agreement on New York's budget by the Friday deadline. The issues they are clashing over include proposed changes to bail reform laws. Meanwhile, a recent court case threatens to scrap newly drawn state and congressional districts. (The City)
  4. Brigadier General Denise Donnell became the first female commander of New York State's Air National Guard–the largest one in the nation–after being sworn in on Saturday. (Gothamist)
  5. COVID-19 cases are on the rise across the city, but not reaching nearly as high as they did during the heart of the winter Omicron surge. NYC's positivity rate is over 2.6%, with the most transmission reported in parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. (AMNY)
