City Denies Report That Coronavirus Confirmed In NYC
Health chiefs said a report published Friday was not accurate.

NEW YORK CITY — The city's health chiefs rushed to deny a New York Daily News report that the first coronavirus case had been confirmed in the city Friday.
"This is not accurate. There are still zero confirmed cases of novel #coronavirus in NYC," the city's health commissioner, Oxiris Barbot, said in a tweet.
Mayor Bill de Blasio's press secretary, Freddi Goldstein, tweeted: "There are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in NYC, nor have we sent any cases to the CDC for testing."

The Daily News reported that a man had been confirmed with the illness in Queens. The newspaper later updated its story with the city's denials.
