College Student Killed Coming Home For Christmas In NYC: NYPD, Report

NEW YORK CITY — A college student on his way home for Christmas was fatally stabbed shortly after hopping off a bus in Manhattan, according to police and a report.
Denzel Bimpey, 18, died riddled with stab wounds to his chest, shoulder and arm after a Friday attack in Flatiron, police said.
Bimpey had just hopped off a bus from SUNY Morrisville with plans to spend Christmas with his family in The Bronx, the New York Daily News first reported.

He had told his sister he'd be home about 10 p.m. that night, the Daily News reported.
"He always told me he loved me after every conversation we had, no matter if I was angry," his sister told the Daily News, according to its report.

Police said they responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress to find wounded Bimpey about 10:40 p.m. near East 26th Street and Park Avenue.
He was at the end of a blood trail a block-and-a-half long, the Daily News first reported.
Medics rushed Bimpey to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, police said.
