Driver Charged In NYC Fatal Crash That Killed Mother, 2 Children

The incident happened on Ocean Parkway near Quentin Road​ in Midwood.

NEW YORK CITY — A 32-year-old driver has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash in Brooklyn that killed a mother and two children over the weekend.

Miriam Yarimi has been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault in the second degree, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, failing to yield right on red and speeding over the limit, police said.

The incident happened on Ocean Parkway near Quentin Road in Midwood.

Yarimi, who was driving in an Audi, is accused of rear-ending a Toyota Camry and the careened into the mother and her three children who were crossing the street, police said.

The victims identified as Natasha Saada, 34, and her two daughters, ages 5 and 8, were killed in the collision.

The mother's 4-year-old son was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.

"I will call it like it is. This was a horrific tragedy caused by someone who shouldn't have been on the road," NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. "A mother and two young children killed. Another child fighting for his life. A family and a neighborhood devastated."

The funerals for the mother and two children were held on Sunday, according to multiple media reports.
