NEW YORK CITY – Salad sold in New York has been recalled because it may be contaminated with E.coli, federal inspectors said Thursday.

New Jersey-based Missa Bay LLC recalled nearly 100,000 pounds of salad from shelves in several states because it contains lettuce that could make people ill, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

The products, some of which have tested positive for the bacteria, were produced between Oct. 14 and 16.
