  1. Police officers removed over one thousand people from the NYC Subway last week, implementing Mayor Adams' plan to crack down on misuse of the transit system by the homeless. Of those one thousand, only twenty-two accepted a bed at shelters. Overall crime was up last week compared to the same period last year. (New York City Patch)
  2. Under the White House's new COVID-19 response plan New Yorkers may soon have access to COVID anti-viral pills produce by Pfizer at local pharmacies. The federal government is also working to respond to new variants with updated vaccines within 100 days after detection. (New York City Patch)
  3. What is the optimal way to connect New York City with LaGuardia airport? The Port Authority wants your input, after putting out fourteen proposal, ranging from extending the elevated N and W trains in Astoria, to building a light rail, to a ferry line. (New York City Patch)
  4. Anna Netrebko, a singer with the Met Opera, was expelled from future performances for not condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions in Ukraine. Netrebko has for a long time allied herself closely with the Russian president. (Associated Press)
  5. NYC's Taxi commissioner Aloysee Heredia Jarmoszuk resigned on Wednesday, following the release of a video reported by the New York Post showing her speaking inappropriately to subordinates. Jarmoszuk, who was appointed by De Blasio and reappointed by Adams, apologized for her actions before resigning. (New York City Patch)
