- While she might have declared it the 'most popular item' in the State's budget, law makers opted not to include Governor Kathy Hochul's proposal to bring back to-go drinks in their own budget proposals. While many are in favor of the measure, it's met some opposition from liquor store owners who worry it could detract from their business. (New York City Patch)
- The man suspected of stabbing two employees at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) over the weekend, Gary Cabana, was arrested by authorities at a Greyhound bus station in Philadelphia at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after it was reported he may have been responsible for starting a small fire in a nearby hotel. - A man wanted in connection with shooting five homeless people in Washington D.C. and New York City was arrested, police announced on Tuesday in D.C., in an investigation in coordination with the F.B.I. Mayor Adams released a statement urging homeless individuals to seek shelter out of the streets. (New York City Patch)
- A fire broke out on the roof of a concessions building at a Prospect Park ice skating rink Tuesday afternoon. No one was hurt, but the incident marks the second fire to break out at a city park in about a week. (New York City Patch)
- A Queens public middle school math teacher was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 13, according to police. A schools spokesperson said the city would pursue his termination if he is convicted. (New York City Patch)
