NEW YORK CITY — Two corrections officers on duty during Jeffrey Epstein's suicide were arrested, according to reports.

Both guards stand accused falsifying Metropolitan Correctional Center records after Epstein, recently charged with sex trafficking, was found hanging in his cell on Aug. 10, sources told the New York Post.

The two officers allegedly skipped their required half hour check-ins with Epstein — on suicide watch — then later fabricated forms to cover their absences, according to the New York Post.

Both are expected in Manhattan Criminal Court Tuesday, the Post reported.

Epstein, a 66-year-old billionaire, faced charges that he sexually abused girls as young as 14 in his Upper East Side and Florida mansions, prosecutors said.

The city medical examiner ruled his death a suicide but it has continued to raise questions.

At the time, U.S. Attorney General William Barr said the federal jail where Epstein was locked up had "serious irregularities."

And a forensic pathologist hired by Mark Epstein, his brother, said the autopsy was more consistent with homicidal strangulation than suicide, according to the Post.
