Hundreds of NYC Teens Celebrate “Teen Night” on the High Line

Teen Night: New York Nostalgia welcomed hundreds of teens from all over NYC for music, performances, dancing, food and more

On Friday, May 19, the High Line Teens Program hosted its most anticipated event of the year: Teen Night. The event created by teens, for teens, featured dynamic performances, an open-mic, food tastings, dancing and art workshops. This massive teen-led project brought together hundreds of young adults from across New York City. The evening on the High Line’s Chelsea Market Passage was spent dancing, watching performances, creating art and showcasing all the culture NYC has to offer.

Teen Night is a culmination of months of work by the High Line Teens planning every aspect of the event. This celebration of New York City was geared toward youth ages 14-21, but all were welcome to attend.

More About the High Line Teens Program

High Line Teens is a paid employment opportunity for local youth focused on leadership development through civic engagement, arts and culture, ecological horticulture initiatives, public programs, and strategic partnerships available through the High Line and the High Line Network. The program is primarily made up of teens who either live in the area surrounding the park or attend schools nearby.
