Jonathan Majors Guilty Of Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend In NYC, Jury Finds
The Marvel actor, 34, has been found guilty of assault and harassment, but acquitted on two other charges Monday.

NEW YORK CITY — Marvel star Jonathan Majors was convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend in New York City after a high-profile, two-week trial that could permanently damage his career in Hollywood.
A Manhattan jury Monday found Majors, 34, guilty of assault and harassment, but acquitted him of a separate assault charge and of aggravated harassment.
The verdict came after prosecutors and Majors' attorneys rehashed a tumultuous March night in which the actor's former girlfriend, 30, accused him of attacking inside a car on the way to his Chelsea home.

Mayors' attorney Priya Chaudhry argued to jurors that he was the victim of an ex bent on revenge over infidelity. But prosecutor Kelli Galaway said the aggressor was Majors.
"This is not a revenge plot to ruin the defendant’s life or his career," Galaway said. "You were asked why you are here? Because domestic violence is serious."

The charges against Majors came as he was poised to become the Marvel films' next big villain, Kang the Conqueror.
Instead, he has seen that role — and much of his career — thrust into doubt as several more women and coworkers came forward with accusations of abusive behavior.
Majors is set for a Feb. 6 sentencing.
