Man Attacked, Slashed In The Face By Group Of Kids Inside NYC Station

NEW YORK CITY — Police are searching for a group of children who allegedly attacked and slashed a man inside a Manhattan subway station on Wednesday.

The incident happened inside the Canal Street train station in Lower Manhattan around 4:30 a.m., police said.

A 38-year-old man was walking on a subway platform inside the station when he was approached by the children, according to a 1010 WINS report.

The group allegedly tried to rob the man's cannabis, but were unsuccessful. They then began to punch and kick him before slashing the man in the face.

Police have not disclosed how many suspects were involved in the incident.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries. An investigation remains ongoing, police said.
