- The MTA will be piloting platform doors at three train stations, hoping to prevent more deaths like that of Michelle Go in January, who was pushed into the train tracks. The announcement is a reversal from the agency's previous stance that the doors were too costly and logistically challenging. (New York City Patch)
- The former chief of the NYPD's Sergeants Benevolent Association, Ed Mullins, surrendered to law enforcement on Wednesday over charges that he used nearly $1 million of union funds for personal gains, including high-end meals, clothing, and jewelry. (New York City Patch)
- Fallen FDNY Firefighter Jesse Gerhard was honored at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Bay Shore Wednesday. Gerhard had died on February 16th after suffering a "medical episode" at his Far Rockaway firehouse. (New York City Patch)
- Two prosecutors investigating former president Donald Trump's businesses abruptly resigned Wednesday from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office. Sources told The New York Times that Bragg had expressed little interest in pursuing the cases, although in January he had told reporters that he would "follow the facts" when investigating Trump. (Associated Press)
- This is another one of those wacky weather weeks. While Wednesday saw highs of up to 68 degrees in some areas, today the temperature is projected to drop rapidly. And we will likely see between two to five inches of snow turning into sleet overnight between Thursday and Friday. (New York City Patch)
